Media player for Linux operating system

Are there any good media player for linux that wont give issues while playing media of different format?

If you are using ubuntu then aviplay is the best.

you can install aviplay by typing sudo apt-get install aviplay in the terminal.

after installation,type avi play in the terminal will open a tool in which you can watch most of the extensions.

totem movie player is also good but it cant play .mpeg and .avi files.
