This is something that was on my mind for a long time now.. In Bangalore there have been conferences , Meets etc to promote linux.. Now its time Individuals from other places do similar stuff..

Here is waht you can do..

1. You know how to use an OS..
Install Linux and See the similarities.. And Know and Understand its capabilities..
Try to experiment.. There is no harm in that.. Get good clean scratchless cd copies of Linux FOR YOURSELF.. Make copies for others instead of Lending them..

2. Spread the word.. Know you have a little experience with it.. Tell your friends and everyone whom you think is worth teh knowledge.. Share your experiences here..

(Optional) 3. Use it throughly.. And Learn it using books.. You'll know how powerful you are in the industry..

(Optional) 4. Interact with other users in your city or even thru TTI of Y! Messenger.. And feel good..

@ Rizaaj :- Cool

@ Mani :- Its not available thats why we need to promote it.. Lots of people who ordered free cds have not got it.. There are postal delays.. Its not easy.. But you should recieve them without fail..

But even if you dont.. Its not hard to find Linux cds at local stores.. YOu can try reading about them.. YOu can download Linux cds FREE of COST..

Spreading CD's didnt help..

The main problem is installation with DUAL boot to Windows!
No one can shift immediately to LINUX!

So i always wanted to put up a conference or a workshop wherein... i can setup LINUX on wannabies desktops!
Thats the only way i find to spread LINUX...
Once u load it... they can start using it, and after which they would began to understand it!

Until then, distribution of CD's not gone help!

I guess ppl shud be made aware of linux benefits first....then they shud be asked to use it....windows is all bout marketing......another thing not many games run on linux....so ppl prefer windows....
